GDPS’s Tech Skill Lab is home to two of the most powerful educational tools in design and fabrication: 3D printers and laser cutters. Together, they close the gap between a student’s imagination and a physical object — making digital-to-physical manufacturing a normal part of how GDPS students think, design, and make.

The Combined Effect

When students have consistent access to 3D printing and laser cutting, something shifts in how they approach problems. They stop asking ‘Can this be made?’ and start asking ‘How should this be designed?’ That is the shift from passive learner to active creator — and it is the shift GDPS is deliberately engineering in every student who passes through this lab.
