GDPS believes that creativity and aesthetic sensibility are not luxuries in education. They are necessities. The arts develop capabilities — observation, expression, emotional intelligence, aesthetic judgment — that no other discipline can cultivate in quite the same way. At GDPS, the arts are given real time, real space, and real resources.

Visual & Performing Arts

  • Visual Arts: Drawing, painting, craft, and mixed media — developed across all grades as both skill and creative practice
  • Music: Instrumental and vocal programmes, integrated with the Tune and Tone recording studio for students who want to develop music production skills
  • Dance: Classical, folk, and contemporary forms, performed at school events and entered in inter-school competitions
  • Drama and Shadow play Unit: The newly established Theatre Lab gives students a dedicated space for performance, stagecraft, voice development, and collaborative storytelling

Saarang - The Annual Cultural Fest

SAARANG is the cultural heartbeat of the GDPS calendar — an annual festival at which students from Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire houses compete and collaborate across a full programme of arts events. Dance competitions, music performances, drama productions, art exhibitions, and literary events give every student an opportunity to share their creative work with the whole school community.

SAARANG is more than a talent show. It is a celebration of the school’s belief that creativity takes as many forms as there are students — and that every form deserves an audience.

Cultural Diversity and Traditions

GDPS celebrates the richness of India’s cultural calendar — national festivals, regional traditions, and global cultural moments — through assemblies, events, and classroom activities that build cultural awareness and pride. The school’s connections add a further international dimension, giving students regular exposure to traditions and creative expressions from beyond their immediate cultural context.
