Grades IX to XII — Senior Secondary
The Senior Secondary years at GDPS are the culmination of a carefully designed educational journey. By the time students reach Grade IX, they have spent years building habits of curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking. The Senior School builds on that foundation to prepare them for board examinations, competitive entrance tests, and — most importantly — the demands of life beyond school.
Grades IX & X
Grades IX and X follow the CBSE curriculum leading to the Grade X Board Examination. Core subjects include Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English, and a Second Language.
Students are supported with structured examination preparation, regular assessment cycles, and personalised academic guidance — without sacrificing the school's commitment to genuine understanding over surface-level test performance.
Grades XI & XII — Streams
In Grades XI and XII, students select their stream based on academic performance, aptitude, and aspiration. GDPS currently offers:
Science Stream -- Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics (with Computer Science/Psycology and other electives)
Commerce Stream — Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics (with Mathematics / Informatics Practices)
Students are guided through stream selection with counselling support that helps them align their subject choices to their longer-term goals — whether those goals are medical entrance, engineering, business, or the creative and applied fields.
Examination Preparation & Support
Structured revision programmes and mock board examinations. Subject-specific doubt-clearing sessions with faculty. Guidance on competitive entrance examination preparation alongside board studies.Individual academic counselling for students navigating subject choices and career pathways.Parent communication and reporting at regular intervals throughout the senior years.
